Huron Rotary

Huron Rotary

The Huron Township Rotary is a local chapter of the worldwide organization, Rotary International. The members of this club, like all Rotarians, are dedicated to “Service Above Self” and work towards building a better community. The club consists of business, professional, and community leaders who meet weekly for fellowship and informative programs.

The Rotary International is a charitable foundation that funds international scholarships, cultural exchanges, and humanitarian projects. In Huron Township, the Rotary Club is actively involved in various community projects, funded by a Michigan 3 digit raffle fundraiser and the sale of commemorative brick-pavers.

Some of their notable projects include the rebuilding and maintenance of the Veteran’s Memorial Monument in downtown New Boston, coordinating the Goodfellows program which ensures holiday dinners and gifts for over 150 families annually, and providing eyeglasses and winter clothing to school children in need.

The club also awards 10-12 scholarships annually to local high school graduates, supports local scout troops and the Outdoor Challenge program at Huron High School, and sponsors the Huron Township Police Explorer’s. They collaborate with local Police and Fire departments on many projects and make annual contributions to local school libraries and reading programs.

Those interested in becoming a Rotarian or participating in their projects can contact the club for more information.
